Marion Froehlich, winner of the first edition of the Isla Bonita Moda Awards for Made in La Palma Talent in the “Fashion Brand” category.
The first edition of the “Premios Isla Bonita Moda al Talento Made in La Palma” (Made in La Palma Fashion Awards), held on February 28, 2024, at the Museo Insular in Santa Cruz de La Palma, honored the creative contributions of local talent. The event focused on recognizing outstanding figures in the island’s fashion industry.
In the “Fashion Brand” category, designer Marion Fröhlich was honored for her brand “MARU, LA PALMA.” Originally from Berlin, Marion has lived on La Palma since 1993 and has made a name for herself as a designer. Her bags and accessories are characterized by unique designs and high-quality materials that reflect the island’s beauty and creativity. The award for Marion Fröhlich underscores her important role in La Palma’s fashion industry and her contribution to promoting local craftsmanship.
The awards ceremony, hosted by renowned TV presenter Jose Toledo, also honored talent in the categories of modeling, makeup and hairstyling, fashion photography, and content creation. A special highlight of the evening was the posthumous tribute to Juan Miguel Acosta Hernández, a renowned tailor on the island whose legacy is deeply rooted in traditional tailoring.
The event was supported by important figures from the island, including the President of the Cabildo, Sergio Rodríguez, and Sodepal Director Miriam Perestelo, who both emphasized the importance of such events for promoting the fashion industry on La Palma.
